For a 22.5 acre residential development in China with 90 villas and a clubhouse we sought programmatic tautness and cultural relevance through computational means. This algorithmic approach to urbanism afforded precise control to meet program and planning requirements (including strict soft-scape minimums) while producing the spatial and formal variety desired for a contemporary Chinese architecture. Unlike many recent developments that follow a vaguely western suburban model, this is a garden of homes.
