Tribeca Penthouse

This project is a reimagining of a penthouse apartment in a converted warehouse in New York. Working closely with the owner, the design reflects a light-handed approach contrasting with the heavy timber beams and columns to create a home both serene and highly functional for a family and everyday living.

Folded steel plates define the stair, capturing and carving light through the floors while housing a playful under-the-stair hideout. A variety of material textures works within the restrained and elemental color palette. Built-in casework is inset into thickened walls that hide structure, providing a quiet container for the art, light, and family activities.
