Based on the same algorithmic form making process as the Stones Table, the Soft Stones originated as a site specific commission designed and fabricated by Min Day and FACT for the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts. When composed, the pieces tightly fill a corner of the Bemis InfoShop to make a large window seat. When separated, the independent pieces become movable seats, stools and tables that can be arranged as desired by patrons of the contemporary art center.
